A Major Infrastructure Milestone in Hyderabad

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy formally inaugurated Aranghar-Zoo Park flyover, one of the key infrastructures on Hyderabad's road. It is built by GHMC connecting Zoo Park to Aranghar, easing the traffic congestion, especially at the approach to the Bangalore Highway. At a cost of approx. ₹800 crores, the project forms an integral part of the city's Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP). After initially being proposed for December last year, inauguration got delayed. It was covered in the press after which the government hastened the ceremony.

"We Proved We Are Our Own Competition": Revanth Reddy

During the inauguration, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s progress under the Congress government. He highlighted that the city previously witnessed the construction of the 11.5 km PV Express Flyover during the YSR era. “We have now constructed Hyderabad’s second-largest flyover, showcasing our ability to compete with ourselves,” Reddy stated.

He further detailed the government’s commitment to Hyderabad’s development:

  • Urban Growth: Expanding road infrastructure and Metro services.
  • Environmental Focus: Reviving the Musi River.
  • Beautification Efforts: Removing encroachments to retain the old city's beauty.

Reddy claimed that development surpasses the political divide as Congress and MIM work hand-in-glove for the betterment of the city. Notable personalities in attendance include Minister Sridhar Babu and some members of the MIM.

On Meeting Hyderabad's Traffic Annuity

With Hyderabad’s traffic congestion worsening, the GHMC has prioritized solutions to alleviate gridlock and save fuel, time, and resources for commuters. The Zoopark-Aranghar flyover, built as part of the SRDP, is a testament to these efforts. By reducing travel time and easing bottlenecks, the flyover contributes to the city’s overall connectivity.

GHMC’s Strategic Road Development Program

The SRDP would upgrade the road infrastructure in Hyderabad by providing flyovers, ROBs, and underpasses. The addition of an Aranghar-Zoo Park flyover strengthens the SRDP's objective in the idea of mobility for rapid city growth.

Hyderabad's Future Vision

Revanth Reddy reiterated the vision of the government for Hyderabad and said that infrastructure projects would increase employment opportunities and spur growth. The newly opened flyover enhances the transportation network of the city and symbolizes progress and efficient governance.
