Arvind Kumar Appears for ACB Inquiry
IAS officer Arvind Kumar, accused no. 2 in the Formula E Race case, is being inquired by the ACB. Kumar is accused of facilitating the transfer of funds from Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority to Formula-E Operations as HMDA Chief Executive BLN Reddy seems to have operated during Kumar's tenure.
Kumar has defended his acts in the past, saying that the money was shifted based on instructions from the then Minister, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). The ACB officials are supposed to record the formal statement of Kumar as part of the inquiry.
BLN Reddy Questioned by ED
In a parallel development, the former HMDA Chief Engineer during the Formula E Race, BLN Reddy, is reportedly appearing for questioning before the Enforcement Directorate. The ED is investigating the transfer of ₹45.71 crore allegedly to a foreign entity.
The ED investigation is related to the ACB case, and it is being carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The government is focusing on increasing scrutiny to link up the flow of funds and take into account the involvement of other parties.
