The Trinamool Congress has also declared their decision to cast their votes for Aam Aadmi Party, which is a part of Delhi Assembly Elections taking place on 5 February. AAP's National Convenor and former CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal responded to it by thanking Mamata Banerjee, who is the chief minister of West Bengal. There was a post seen on social media platform 'X' where he said, "Thank you, Didi.".
In his message, Kejriwal said, "The Trinamool Congress has announced its support for AAP in the Delhi elections. I personally thank Mamata Didi. Thank you, Didi. You have always stood by us in good times and bad."
Growing Alliances Ahead of the Delhi Elections
This has further entrenched AAP's stand since it wants to have a successive third term in Delhi. The prime also added to the list of the 'INDIA' alliance that is likely to endorse AAP. Already on the same line were the Samajwadi Party and Shiv Sena (UBT).
It is interesting to note that AAP has lately demonstrated diversity in its alliance for the elections. It was a coalition partner of the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha election but had chosen a solitary fight for Haryana state elections.
Success of AAP in the past and Expectation for the present
The Delhi Assembly has 70 seats. In 2015, AAP stormed into power when it won a landslide victory on 67 seats. Since then, it had been working diligently to regain its supremacy and now prepares for the historic hat-trick in 2025.
