Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Arrested

Vallabhaneni Vamsi Taken Into Custody by Vijayawada Police

Former Gannavaram MLA and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested by Vijayawada Patamata police. He was arrested at Myhome Bhuja in Rayadurgam, Hyderabad. The police arrested him and brought him to Vijayawada after that.

A case has been registered against Vamsi under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), such as Sections 140(1), 308, and 351(3), and Redwith 3(5). These charges are of alleged offenses of kidnapping, assault, and offenses under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Vamsi has also been mentioned as A71 in the case of the attack on the Gannavaram TDP office during the YSRCP regime.

Kidnapping and Threat Allegations Against Vamsi

Vamsi is accused of kidnapping and threatening Sathyavardhan, a computer operator of the Gannavaram TDP office. Sathyavardhan, a key complainant in the attack on the TDP office, deposed in a special court for SC and ST cases in Vijayawada recently. In his affidavit, he said that he had nothing to do with the case.

But he later went to the police and complained that he had been threatened and coerced into making a false statement about the attack. On this complaint, Vijayawada Additional DCP Krishna and his team went to Hyderabad and arrested Vamsi. Meanwhile, police officials also issued notices to Vamsi's wife, informing her of his arrest.

Vallabhaneni Vamsi's Involvement in Other Cases

Apart from this case, Vamsi has been involved in several other cases:

  • Illegal Demolition Case: He is mentioned as A2 in the illegal demolition of TDP leader Vemulapalli Srinivasa Rao's shops in Arugolanu, Bapulapadu mandal.
  • Murder Attempt Case: He has been booked for attempting to murder MLA Yarlagadda Venkat Rao during Telaprolu elections in Ungutur mandal.
  • Attack on Former PACS President: He is also in a case of attacking former PACS president Kasaraneni Rangababu of Gannavaram.
  • Fake House Title Scam: Vamsi is connected with fake house title cases in Hanuman Junction.

These cases are still pending with officials as court proceedings are ongoing.
