Ongole Breed Receives International Appreciation
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the international appreciation of the Ongole breed as an indicator of its increased value in the international market. He added that the valuation of the breed for Rs. 41 crores in the international market is good news. He explained that an appreciation of such a sort is an indicator of the rich cattle heritage of the state on the international platform.
Conservation Efforts of Government
CM Chandrababu reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the conservation of the Ongole breed and to encouraging dairy farmers. He added that such cattle are renowned for their superior genes, strength, and resistance to climate. The government is interested in conserving them and bringing their significance into the limelight in the cattle industry.

An Ongole breed cow, Viatina-19, a national asset, was sold at a Rs. 41 crore auction recently in a sale of livestock in Brazil. The auction price for the first time is also a reflection of the enthusiasm of the international market for this great breed.
