Failure is not the end, and life always provides new opportunities as the industrialist Gautam Adani should have said with regard to the tragedy the JEE (Main) student faced. A young girl from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, ended her life after her marks dropped in the JEE (Main) first phase exam, preventing her from achieving the expected percentile.
Adani submitted his condolence over the incident and aired parents and students to take another sight of academic failures.
Adani’s Message on Academic Pressure
“It is heartbreaking that a bright young girl ended her life under the burden of expectations. Life is much bigger than exams - this is something parents must understand first and then explain to their children. I, too, was an ordinary student and faced multiple failures in life. But each time, life showed me a new path,” Adani wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“My request to everyone is simple—do not see failure as the final destination. Life always offers a second chance,” he added.
Tragic Incident in Gorakhpur
The student, who was living in a private hostel in Gorakhpur while preparing for JEE, left behind a heart-wrenching note addressed to her parents.
Her final words:
"Sorry, Mom and Dad! Please forgive me. I failed to achieve what I wanted. You always treated me with love, but I couldn't fulfill your dreams. Take care of Choti (my younger sister). She will definitely make your dreams come true."
As a result of this incident, the controversy over the Japanese academic pressure and the need for a more stress-free concept of success and failure is being revived.
