
Pakistan is the host of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and the tournament will start on February 19th. Eight teams will be participating, all of which had already compiled their squads. At Dubai Stadium, Team India will play.
The ICC has recently disclosed all the prize money details of an upcoming tournament. It is to be noted that the prize pool has gone up by 53% as compared to the 2017 edition of the game. Each of the Rs. 60 crores will be divided equally among the squads with the last team receiving Rs 1.22 crores. Additionally, Rs. 29 lakh will be the remuneration given to each team in a match in the tournament.
Prize Money Breakdown
- Winner: Rs. 20.8 crore
- Runner-up: Rs. 10.4 crore
- Semi-finalists: Rs. 5.2 crore (each)
- Fifth & Sixth place: Rs. 3 crore
- Seventh & Eighth place: Rs. 1.2 crore
- Per match reward: Rs. 29 lakh
Previous Champions Trophy Prize Distribution (2017)
Champions Trophy last took place in 2017, as Pakistan overcame India in the final to grab the title. The distribution of the cash prize was as follows:
- Pakistan (Winner): Rs. 14.18 crore
- India (Runner-up): Rs. 7 crore
- England & Bangladesh (Semi-finalists): Rs. 3 crore each
- Australia & South Africa (5th & 6th place): Rs. 58 lakh each
- Sri Lanka & New Zealand (7th & 8th place): Rs. 39 lakh each
Significant growth in prize money for the 2025 edition is an indicator of the increasing amount of financial incentives for teams taking part in the competition.
