Wade Joins Gujarat Titans Support Staff for IPL 2025
Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade has rejoined Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025, this time as part of the team's coaching setup. The 37-year-old will serve as the Assistant Coach, joining a backroom staff that features Ashish Nehra (Head Coach), Parthiv Patel (Batting Coach), Aashish Kapoor, and Narender Negi (Assistant Coaches).
Wade’s Playing Career with Gujarat Titans
Wade represented Gujarat Titans across two IPL seasons (2022 and 2024), appearing in 12 matches and accumulating 161 runs. He retired from international cricket in October 2023 and soon transitioned into coaching, working under Andre Borovec during Australia's T20I series against Pakistan, as the primary coaching staff focused on the Test series against India.
Gujarat Titans’ Performance in IPL
Since joining the IPL in 2022, Gujarat Titans have been a competitive force, reaching the finals in their first two seasons and winning the title in 2022. However, their 2024 campaign was disappointing, with the team securing just five wins from 14 league matches, finishing eighth among 10 teams.
