Sanju Samson Exudes Admiration For MS Dhoni And Relives Bonding Experience

Samson's Dream of Being with Dhoni

Indian cricketer and captain of the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, has shown his fervent desire to be identified with erstwhile Indian captain MS Dhoni. Samson divulged that he holds Dhoni's advice and perspectives in high esteem, which according to him can assist him in being the best in his career.

As the IPL 2025 season is about to kick off in ten days, Samson talked about his relationship with Dhoni. Both the players have not only played against each other but have also appeared in commercials together. Samson mentioned that whenever his team is playing Chennai Super Kings, he makes the most of the time to speak with Dhoni. He recalled with a smile how their bond increased after their initial conversation with each other in Sharjah in the 2020 IPL season.

Favorite Moments with Dhoni

Samson shared a memorable moment when he made more than 70 runs against Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah. He was awarded the Player of the Match for it. During that match, he had a memorable conversation with Dhoni, which helped bring their improved relation to life.

"Like every young cricketer, I too wanted to stand alongside MS Dhoni.". After the games played against CSK, I would accompany him and pose personal questions. It was a dream come true. I recall making more than 70 runs against Chennai at Sharjah, and after that game, I had met Mahi Bhai. We've since become very close. Till date, I meet him frequently — I met him two days ago. Whether on-field or in commercials, sharing time with Dhoni continues to be unreal," Samson revealed.

Future IPL Matches and Samson's Rehabilitation

Rajasthan Royals will start their IPL 2025 journey against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are also going to play Chennai Super Kings at Guwahati on March 30.

Samson suffered an injury setback during England's T20 series, which ruled him out of cricket for a period. He also sat out the quarter-final of the Ranji Trophy due to undergoing minor surgery. He has, however, recovered and is set to play for the upcoming season of IPL.
