TDP Government Won't Remain Permanent, Claims YS Jagan
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has warned officials who, in his opinion, commit injustice in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government. He hinted that no government is eternal and assured that the perpetrators of injustice would be punished in the future.
Jagan uttered these words after meeting former MLA from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was arrested recently and was remanded in Vijayawada jail on a charge of kidnapping and assault. The meeting was held on Tuesday, and Pankajasri, wife of Vamsi, and Simhadri Ramesh were also present. Kodali Nani and Perni Nani were mentioned as visitors but were permitted as there were just three visitors for the day on the grounds of security.
Following a 30-minute meeting, Jagan addressed the media, affirming his opposition to unjust actions. He provided an example of a police officer who, while arresting Vamsi, informed him that he would retire in one and a half years. Jagan warned that retirement or migration would not save the culprits, emphasizing that they would be brought to justice as per the law.
Law and Order Deterioration in the State
Jagan criticized the manner in which Vamsi was arrested, calling it a sign of declining law and order in Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that a false case was registered against Vamsi based on a complaint by Satyavardhan, who had earlier accused TDP workers of attacking the Gannavaram TDP office. Despite Vamsi testifying in court that he had no involvement, he was later implicated in a fabricated case, Jagan claimed.
According to Jagan, after the new coalition government was sworn in, the case against Vamsi was re-investigated and he was declared the 71st accused. He asserted that the charges, including those under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, were political. Jagan further stated that the TDP office owner who was a complainant was not a Scheduled Caste community member but a friend of Chandrababu Naidu.
Case Against Satyavardhan and Alleged Political Conspiracy
Jagan also blamed the government for intimidating individuals in the case. He said that an FIR was lodged against Satyavardhan at the Patamata police station in Vijayawada on February 11 for making a false statement. He blamed police for intimidating Satyavardhan's family and then accusing him of theft of ₹20,000 and kidnapping an individual.
Vamsi was arrested as early as February 13, even before his statement was taken, Jagan noted. He criticized the authorities for arresting Vamsi without interrogation.
TDP's Suspected Undemocratic Activities during Local Elections
Jagan claimed the democracy in the state had broken down under the TDP government. He referred to instances where the ruling party, with the help of the police, rigged municipal elections in Piduguralla, Tirupati, and Tuni. He claimed TDP won all 30 seats in Tuni Municipality unjustly and even tried to grab the Vice Chairman's seat. The Palakonda elections were also brought forward because of malpractices, he continued.
Targeting of Vallabhaneni Vamsi
Jagan accused the government of intentional targeting of Vamsi and linked it to internal political rivalries. He accused Chandrababu Naidu of viewing Vamsi as a political threat since he was from Naidu's same community and was becoming popular.
In a clear statement, Jagan said that Naidu felt threatened by the popularity and popularity of Vamsi in comparison to Lokesh. He accused Naidu and his son Lokesh of attempting to stifle political leaders of their group who were against them. Jagan accused political leaders like Nani, Vamsi, Avinash, Shankara Rao, and Brahmanaidu of being subject to legal action, defamation, and trolling on the internet as a political vendetta.
By raising these concerns, Jagan emphasized that the actions of the ruling party reflected its political intolerance and misuse of power.
