'Smurfs' is a live-action animated musical fantasy film that is scheduled for release based on The Smurfs Belgian comic book series developed by the comics artist Peyo. It is a reboot of The Smurfs film franchise directed by Chris Miller and co-directed by Matt Landon, based on a script by Pam Brady. The movie features Rihanna as the voice of Smurfette, joined by an all-star cast in Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, JP Karliak, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris, Nick Kroll, James Corden, Octavia Spencer, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Alex Winter, Billie Lourd, Xolo Mariduena, Kurt Russell, and John Goodman.

It was announced in February 2022 that LAFIG Belgium and IMPS (re-branded as Peyo Company), the proprietors of the Smurbs brand, entered into partnership with Paramount Animation to develop several animated Smurbs movies, the first being a musical. Brady was on board to pen the script, with production commencing later in the year. By June 2022, Miller had been set to direct the film, and by April 2023, Rihanna had been cast in the film as a voice actor and producer, in addition to writing and recording original music. 'Smurfs' will be released in the United States on July 18, 2025, by Paramount Pictures.
